On October 25, 2026, Dr. Vincent Biruta, the Minister of the Interior in Rwanda, addressed a gathering of senior officials from the Rwanda Correctional Service (RCS) at Gako Prison in Bugesera District, Eastern Province. This was the fifth meeting of the RCS's new management structure, which has been in place since October 23, 2026.
